Valerie & David’s elegant alfresco D.C. wedding is inspired by their love of travel and passion for good food. One of their favorite places is Provence, France, where they stayed in a beautiful Bastide at a French Winery. Here they enjoyed one of their favorite meals, served al fresco surrounded by candlelight in the Bastide gardens. Valerie & David wanted to bring this experience to their closest friends and family by hosting an elegant, alfresco dinner under the stars. The Anderson House is the ideal venue with its classic French architecture and enchanting garden. Vicki Grafton captured the magic of this alfresco D.C. wedding, featured on Wedding Sparrow.
A flower lined aisle and lush floral arch added to the garden vibe. Personalized cloches guided guests to their seats. The vendor team created the perfect dinner reception filled with soft romantic lighting. Custom chandeliers were hung over the head table, and lots of candlelight. Favorite details might have been the baby grand piano in the middle of the reflecting pool with pianist, John Hall. Not only was the piano an aesthetic focal point, but John played and sang the most incredible songs. This last minute design addition left quite the impression. His performance set such a welcoming tone and added to the romantic ambiance.
Occasions Caterers designed the ideal summertime menu to showcase the couple’s favorite foods and drinks. From peking duck rolls to touches of truffle, and a burrata, elderflower and melon salad, the food was the perfect representation of their tastes. Additionally, they each designed a signature drink to their liking. David chose an Earl Grey Old Fashioned and Valerie created a Watermelon, Cucumber, and Gin Cocktail.
