You may recognize these two from their elopement when they exchanged vows at Goodstone Inn in Virginia. After postponing their wedding due to the pandemic, Meredith & Christopher finally got the wedding they dreamed of at the Inn at Perry Cabin. We’re thrilled to share these photos with you, and to see both of their memorable days featured on Washingtonian Weddings blog.
After vacationing at the Inn at Perry Cabin, Meredith and Christopher fell in love with the property and knew it was where they wanted to host their wedding. Setting a second wedding date for May 2021, they chose a joyful spring garden theme that complemented the scenery of the venue. They exchanged vows in front of family and friends in front of a lush floral arch full of spring flowers by the waterfront. Guests sipped on signature drinks during cocktail hour, a Moscow Mule for the groom, a French 75 for the bride, and a grapefruit mocktail for their puppy. Friends and family signed a map of Saint Michaels as the couple’s guest book.
Stunning flowers such as peonies, ranunculus, and hydrangea filled the reception tables courtesy of Philippa Tarrant. Lush greenery adorned the tent poles and added to the garden feel. Soft textures with luxurious pops of gold created a sophisticated setting under the sailcloth tent. Guests enjoyed a Southern inspired meal of shrimp and grits and chicken stuffed with pimento cheese. Since the couple had shared a mini cake when they eloped, guests enjoyed banana pudding, lemon tarts, and strawberry shortcake.
After such anticipation, finally seeing these two get the celebration they desired was such a joy! Thanks to wonderful vendors for persevering despite traffic and weather difficulties. It was worth every ounce we put into it! Thanks to Vicki Grafton for capturing all the beauty.
