Cara & Kamyar’s micro wedding at the Dumbarton House in D.C was just featured on Martha Stewart, and I’m overjoyed to share it with you. They had originally planned a small ceremony under the iconic cherry blossoms for April 2020, but had to change their plans due to COVID-19. Since they have guests who would travel from all around the world, the couple realized their big celebration would be postponed for quite awhile. They decided to exchange vows this summer in a micro wedding here in D.C while they wait to reschedule their reception abroad.
Cara and Kamyar wanted their nuptials to be special and sophisticated even though their guests were mostly virtual. They invited 60 guests to witness their vows via Zoom, and then hosted a mini reception in the venue’s garden. Their picnic for 5 was hosted on an Indian quilt sprinkled with colorful pillows. Lunch was a Lebanese mezze spread prepared by Occasions Caterers. They also had a petite wedding cake from Buttercream, an elderflower-soaked lemon cake with blackberry jam and vanilla buttercream, topped with a sugar flower. Their first dance was perhaps the most romantic thing I have ever seen, and I’m so honored to have helped with Cara & Kamyar’s intimate wedding!
