A bohemian waterside wedding on the Eastern Shore made perfect sense for Rachel & Ben, who both grew up around the water. Desiring a relaxed, carefree wedding day, they chose Brittland Manor where the ceremony and reception took place at the same lovely location. The backdrop of the Chester River was a romantic spot to exchange vows, and an airy tent provided shade from the August heat. The venue is beautiful by itself, so our design both in color and decor really tried to enhance the natural beauty rather than overshadow it. Classic, neutral colors and a bohemian vibe set the relaxed, welcoming tone the couple was looking for.
A friend of the couple designed the invitations, while the bride herself painted a watercolor map. The organic design featured greys, green, and white; the alter decor and bouquets were lush with blooms, while the tables had long runners of greenery. Balloons in the pool created a whimsical touch to cocktail hour and reflected Rachel & Ben’s fun personality.
We’re so happy to see this sweet couple’s wedding featured in The Knot magazine, with photographs by the talented Amelia Johnson.
