The overall inspiration and design can be summed up: “Traditional design meets southern charm with a penchant of fun and flair!” It was important to the bride that the wedding be classy and traditional, but also fun, unique, and with a touch of coastal flair. The design process began by identifying her colors (all shades of blue!) plus important memories and meaningful anecdotes from their relationship to lead the way.
We were destined to find a special linen to set the tone. We decided on sourcing this beautiful hand block fabric from India Amory which we ultimately used for bridal robes, pocket squares, linens, napkins, and pillow cases. To achieve that Florida/southern feel, rattan pendants were a must have! And just as we sourced the custom fabric, we also found the perfect rattan lanterns which were a standout focal point for the event! With the help of our talented vendors Emily Baird and Florals By the Sea, we brought all the other fun and charming details to life including: their playful watercolor paper products, a custom rattan bar, rattan chargers, lounge furniture, a wood and white dance floor, India Amory hand-blocked linens, and a beautiful mix of organic flowers.
One of the stand-out details that had immense meaning to the couple was the escort wall of scooters. The groom, Brent, started a scooter rental company at UNC called “Carolina Scoots.” He was the “Scooter King” and so this was an obvious choice to incorporate into the wedding day that was both playful and meaningful. Other UNC details spoke both to the place they met as well as friends who were in attendance and brought back sweet memories.
This wedding was full of personal touches and a labor of love woven throughout the day! With the uncertainty of weddings in 2020 and even a downpour of rain on the wedding day, nothing was going to stop this couple from having a spectacular wedding. We were so honored and thrilled to celebrate in Rosemary Beach with Brent and Paige!
