We’re overjoyed to see this luxury intimate wedding at Anderson House on Wedding Sparrow today! D.C.’s Anderson House is an obvious choice for a luxe, formal wedding. Built for entertaining, the Anderson House has a long history of diplomatic receptions, formal dinners, and of course weddings. Since 1905, it has been one of the areas most fashionable mansions. We brought this history to life with a grand dinner party in front of the venue’s iconic striped awnings. The European architecture lends itself to formal fetes. Lush jaw-dropping florals by Darling & Daughters brought warmth and romance to the natural stone courtyard. The bride’s romantic Ines di Santo wedding gown was fit for a fairy tale with billowy sleeves and floral appliqués. Luxurious layers and textures with rentals from Maison de Carine created a romantic and extraordinary table that transcends time and place. We kept the color palette fairly neutral to inspire events across the seasons, and brought in blues to play off the reflecting pool in the mansion’s garden.
Even though COVID has kept us from traveling to Europe this year, we are delighted to still celebrate European romance and grandeur here at home. We’re grateful to have amazing wedding venues in Washington, D.C., and the Anderson House is a treasure that transports us to another world.
It’s a joy to create beauty during such a difficult year. Getting to work with some of the areas best vendors is a privilege and honor. We’ve all been missing events and so collaborating on this project was something we all needed. Thank you to a fabulous vendor team for bringing this intimate Anderson House wedding to life. Enjoy these magical photos by Lauren Fair!
