A clear top tent accentuated with greenery, blue & wood accents, and soft candlelight created a magical vibe for this autumn Dumbarton House wedding. The couple met at Hamilton College and bonded over their love of spicy food and bad dancing. Fittingly, guests received favors of customized hot sauce, and the band kept the dance floor packed all night. Another personal detail, signature cocktails were named for the houses the bride and groom each lived in their senior year of college.
An ornate lace chuppah cover added elegance to the outdoor reception in the Dumbarton garden. Sweet Root Village adorned the chuppah with an array of white flowers and greenery, which echoed the bride’s white bouquet. Thankfully, rain held off which allowed for a magical garden cocktail hour before heading indoors for the candlelit reception. The stairway from cocktails to reception was lined with greenery and lanterns, a romantic walkway that hinted at the reception space. Earthy tones of grey, blue, and green reflected the autumn season. A gold flecked cake was both elegant and fitting for the season, while lighthearted toasts and upbeat tunes kept the party going well into the night. Your love lit up the whole room, Sara & Ryan, and we’re so excited to see your wedding in Washingtonian Weddings. Thanks to Lissa Ryan for the fabulous photography!
